Vector One®: Payer Dynamics™ (VOPD™) provides an in-depth understanding of the impact of contract structures on sales and marketing efforts and the return on investment of contract structures at national and local levels. VOPD determines influence for a specific brand by payer identified by the combination of size, copay differential, reject/reversal rates and typical utilization control measures.

VOPD benchmarks expected levels of market share performance based on an individual payer's defined influence within a Core Based Statistical Area (CBSA). As importantly, VOPD determines a payer's spillover influence on other payers in each CBSA. For enhanced sales force targeting at the CBSA level, VOPD measures the influence of the individual payers on their affiliated physicians.

Payer Dynamics™ provides standard and ad hoc metrics and analysis:

  • Payer density, which depicts the relative impact of a payer’s size within a local geographic region
  • Product access, which identifies the degree of access based on benefit design for a product within a given payer
  • Payer influence, an analytic metric based on payer control mechanisms and the ability of a payer to leverage these mechanisms to influence prescription trends within a specific area

VOPD provides the ability for the Pharmaceutical and Biotech industries to better understand the impact of contract structures and performance on sales and marketing efforts. These insights facilitate enterprise-wide resource allocation decisions by Payer Markets, Marketing, and Sales collectively.
